Thanks Kathryn

I should have added the name of the essay which is "How Flowers Changed the World", and are still doing so. Happy poems to you.

It's cold here also, not springlike but not Saskatchewan, reminding me of the quote from the Narnia books, "always winter and never Christmas".

I loved your homage to flowers and to this alpine lily (which I've never seen). Happy birthday to you, Carole. I'm very glad you are in the world.

so glad you did have your say so we could join in awe of nature at the cosmic and down-to-earth scale!

Thank you Carole.

Your poem and photograph form an ideal marriage, where each stands beautifully on its own, each supports the other, and the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts. This is 'multi-media' art at its best.

The equinox is in a few days, the promise of spring. Here in middle Alberta, it will be a while before the golden marsh marigolds and the white coltsfoot emerge as the first wild flowers of spring. In the meantime the magpies and sparrows know what is coming, because they are already building their nests, flying overhead with sticks in their beaks and singing loudly in the empty branches. Thank you for the thoughts of spring.

sublime beauty and just what I needed to read and experience - flowers are such a profound source of joy and inspiration in my life now - and I know the Bach flower remedies hold healing space for you - but to think of the evolution of this planet and the debt we owe to these beings was truly uplifting thank you!!!

Thanks Carole for the lovely image. I have a hunch you wrote that poem when you and I were in a dyad during a continuum/writing workshop with dear Doris and Ingrid lo these many years ago in Vancouver. I had a wee flutter of recognition as I started reading - am I right?
